Fundamental Masonry Plastering Tools You Should Have

To apply the layer of mortar, the most basic tools you need are edgers and trowels. These tools give you a smooth and perfectly flat surface devoid of any unsightly bumps on the plaster. Choose from the pointed finishing trowel or the timber float from Ox Tools, both available in a variety of sizes. If you are working on a particularly large area, concrete rakes will be very helpful in ensuring the even distribution of concrete on the surface.

You would also need chalk or a builder’s line to ensure precise measurements and straight edges. In cases where you need to strengthen the structure with rebar prior to pouring the concrete, you would need to secure the rebar using pieces of tie wire reel. To tie the wire securely around the rebars, as well as to cut off the excess, concrete nippers would come in handy.
